Bhandardara Amruteshwar temple

From Bhandardara it is possible to trek over the historic 400-year old Ratangad fort that is located in it's vicinity. The village at the base of the fort is called 'Ratanwadi'.

In this village of Ratanwadi, their is an ancient temple, known as the Amruteshwar temple. This Shiva temple is around 1000 years old, and is an excellent example of ancient architecture and ancient carved sculptures.

How to reach Amruteshwar temple and Ratangad fort - from Bhandardara:

From Bhandardara (Shendi village), you can walk over to Murshet village from where you can get a ferry to cross the lake. After crossing the lake, you will reach Ratanwadi which is the village at the base of the Ratangad fort. The Amruteshwar temple is located at Ratanwadi.
